Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are organic compounds with two or more than two benzene rings. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are hydrocarbons containing more than two benzene rings in molecules, including more than 150 kinds of compounds, such as naphthalene, anthracene, phenanthrene and pyrene. The full name of English is polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, referred to as PAHs. Some PAHs also contain nitrogen, sulfur, and cyclopentane. Common polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons have carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, mostly from four to six rings of fused ring compounds. The International Cancer Research Center (IARC) (1976) lists 94 compounds that are carcinogenic to laboratory animals. Of which 15 species belong to PAHs, benzo (a) pyrene due to environmental chemistry is the first discovered carcinogens, and strong carcinogenicity, so often with benzo (a) pyrene as representative of polycyclic aromatic, it accounts for all carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons 1%-20%.
The use and harm of PAHS
Multiple and ultimately children's behavioral outcomes are linked. The study found that exposure to higher levels of PAH in children with anxiety / depression ranged from 6 to 7 higher than those with 24% of low exposure levels. It was found that infants with elevated levels of PAH in their umbilical cord blood were 46% more likely than those with low levels of PAH in cord blood, and the final score was high in the anxiety / depression scale
